Wider collaborations and annual conferences
From the late 1960s through the 1970s members of the Bristol Industrial Archaeological Society (BIAS) worked to rescue, record, preserve, interpret and expand industrial archaeology in the region at a time when concerns about the country’s disappearing industrial heritage were growing.
Professor Buchanan wrote:
It was an exciting decade of collaborative effort, with several important by-products, the first of which was a series of annual conferences at the CAT (College of Advanced Technology), which became the University of Bath in 1966.
